Honoring the “Top 10” oldest lighthouses in Florida



#1 & 2 are tied-Both being built in 1824, they are St. Augustine & Pensacola lighthouse (in north FL)

#3 & 4 are tied-Both being built in 1825, they are Cape Florida & Key West lighthouse (in south FL)

# 5 & 6 are tied-Both being built in 1826, they are Dry Tortugas (Garden Key) & Sand Key Reef light (in the Florida Keys)

# 7 built in 1830 is St. John’s lighthouse (north Florida)

#8- built in 1831 is St. Mark’s lighthouse (Panhandle)

#9- built in 1833 is Cape St. George (Panhandle)

#10-- built in Florida in 1837, Amelia Island (original construction was 1820 in Georgia) (in north FL)
